Books for the Beach for all Ages

Summer has arrived and getaway plans are developing to escape to the BEACH! Beach books are popular for the very young, the youth and the adults. The following four books have been placed in the library just in time for summer reading. VBS made us aware of the sea and sea creatures and Under The Sea (Lift and See) is full of surprises, so come in and take a peek!

For our older youth, The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy . This book is an enjoyable tale of four sisters and their gentle father who gives his daughters too much free reign but is always there for support and comfort.

Blueprints by Barbara Delinsky is the perfect book for mothers and daughters everywhere. This story is filled with love, loss, betrayal and passion. A fantastic summer read. (My sisters, Ann and Paulette, highly recommend this “beach” book.) “For Talbot shoppers” notice Nancy Thayer’s books sticking out of beach bags! Nancy is the queen of beach books.

I am adding my favorite author to this list. John Grisham’s The Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town is his first work of nonfiction and will grip you from first page to last. Pack it in your suitcase, or download it on your kindle or stop at Cracker Barrel and rent it on disc. A must read! No American should miss reading this book.
