Bring me books!!!!!

Paul wrote to Timothy, “When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all, the parchments.” 2 Timothy 4:13. Paul had need of books. It is written of Paul, “He was inspired, and yet he wanted books! He has been preaching for thirty years, and yet he wanted books! He had seen the Lord, and yet he wanted books! He had a wider experience than most men did, and yet he wanted books! He had written the major part of the New Testament, and yet he wanted books!” (Quoting Barton: 100 Great Texts and Their Treatment, p.111.)

Our church library can be your individual teaching tool. Our collection is strong in all types of religious books as well as books in other areas such as fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, young adults and books on tape for your driving listening pleasure. Videos are available on many subjects. Come by and browse and make your selection! (I realize that many of us love our Kindles, Nooks, and IPADs, but remember the smell of a good book and the swish of the sound made when turning the pages!)
