First Sunday Fellowship will be held on Sunday, January 4. Join us for coffee, donuts and fellowship at our new coffee station just outside the Gallery. Try our new brew from Equal Exchange, which works directly with farmers in a fair trade practice. Also, a portion of our coffee purchases support the Baptist Peace Fellowship.
The Back Door Coffeehouse again moves to the second Friday of the month due to the holidays. Join us on Friday, January 9, as we bring in the New Year with singer/song writer Claudia Nygaard and Thomas Jackson. Gourmet coffee, cokes, popcorn, and treats are offered free of charge. There will be a nursery provided.
Ordination of new deacons will be on Sunday, January 11, in morning worship. Please be in prayer for Steve Haller, Sharon Harris, and Lynda Thoms as they prepare for ordination and service as deacons.

PrimeTime is Tuesday, January 20. Dr. Tommy King, president of William Carey University will be our guest speaker. Dr. King will be present Go Ahead and Worry. Lunch will begin at 11:30am. Be sure to make your reservations to attend.
On Saturday, January 17, UBC youth will travel to Shaw, MS, and partner with the youth of Northminster Baptist Church of Jackson to work with Delta Hands for Hope and the people of Shaw. The work of UBC youth in Shaw is an important step in our partnership with CBF Mississippi and with Delta Hands for Hope. It also offers a great opportunity to meet the people of Shaw and to see the good work that is already being done there.
If you are interested in getting together with UBC members and friends about once a quarter for good food, fellowship and fun, then sign up for a UBC dinner group. UBC dinner groups provide a wonderful way to get to know other UBC members and friends in a different and casual setting. Sign-up sheets are in the church office. As has been our recent practice, we will again start our new year with two committee nights. The first is scheduled for January 14 at 6:30 pm, immediately following our covered dish supper, with the second scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, at the same time.
