by Stephanie Dray

Two copies of America’s First Daughter by Stephanie Dray have been placed in our library. It is the untold story of Thomas Jefferson’s oldest daughter, Martha aka “Patsy”. The story is written from the thousands of letters Jefferson wrote. The story deals with the daughter’s job of protecting her father by keep secrets about him from becoming known. Jefferson was a man that was hard to interpret and understand. The sacrifices “Patsy” made to protect his legacy and the new nation he founded makes this book one all history buffs should read.

Author’s note: (The historical details of this book may not all be correct but most of the outrageous things are actually true.)
