About Charles Marsh

Dr. Charles Marsh is the Director of the Project on Lived Theology at the Univer- sity of Virginia. Born in Alabama, he spent his childhood in Mississippi. His father served as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Laurel in the late 1960s and early 1970s. His book, God’s Long Summer, details the role of faith in the lives of those who shaped Freedom Summer.
